Concert Band Festival
Date: Friday & Saturday, March 3-4, 2023
The purpose of the LE Concert Band Invitational is provide bands in the DFW Metroplex and beyond with an opportunity to perform for a distinguished panel of adjudicators and receive valuable insights that will help them better prepare for UIL or future performances. Each band attending will receive their choice of a 25-minute clinic or sightreading session following their performance.
Location
Little Elm High School Auditorium, 1900 Walker Lane, Little Elm, TX 75068
Times
Bands will be scheduled according to UIL classification. Special accommodations will be made when possible.
Adjudicators
Art Ruangtip / Mark Poole / Gerry Miller / Ben Katz
*Each adjudicator will record audio comments for each band. The audio comments will be available through Competition Suite. One of the four adjudicators will provide a clinic or sightreading session after each performance.
Recordings
Each band will also receive a professional recording of their stage performance.
Seating Charts
Each band will provide a seating chart before arrival to the contest. Please be advised that LEISD does not have risers. Bands should plan to bring their own risers for festival use, if desired, as well as an appropriate crew to help set-up / tear-down in a timely manner.
Restrooms
Restrooms will be available at any time for students and directors.
Warm-Up
Each band will receive a 25-minute warm-up time in the LEHS Band Room. The room will be furnished with a Harmony Director and Peterson Strobe Tuner for each band’s use.
Clinic / Sightreading Session
This is one of the main features of the LE Invitational. After the stage performance has been completed, one of the judges will provide the band with a 25-minute clinic or sightreading session. This will take place in the LEHS Band Room.
Percussion Equipment
Larger percussion equipment will be provided by Little Elm ISD upon request. Please be sure this information is included with your seating chart. A piano and/or synthesizer will also be readily available. It is always recommended that smaller percussion items and accessories by brought by each band.
